Jersey Shore Days

Two summers ago I took my first planned vacation to New Jersey. I’d been there in the past, but never for a full of week of solid downtime. I stayed on the shore, with a friend, and we spent a lot of time walking to the beach, reading on the sand, and enjoying what I felt was a temperate July. You have to remember that I live in Florida where the heat is extreme in July. Being in New Jersey in July felt like late spring to me.

There is actually a whole lot more than meets the proverbial eye in New Jersey when it comes to vacation type things to do. All along the shore are places just tailor made for family beach vacation days. And when you get tired of the salt water, you can move right along to one of the endearing New Jersey waterparks, like the Raging Waters at Morey’s Piers. Plus, since it is the 40th summer at the Piers, there are all sorts of celebratory events happening, like Magical Mondays where random guests are awarded wristband upgrades, free food and games and even special amenities and party packages.

I know we have the beach down here in Florida all year around, but a Florida beach and a beach in the northeast are just two different animals. There is something more festive about the Jersey Shore. Maybe it is people making the most of the summer season, since they know that it will come to an end with autumn. Whatever it is, I sure did enjoy it when I was there.

The Jersey Shores are awesome! I have been hearing about them and am planning to visit soon. I love learning about new things to do in New Jersey. People make fun of Jersey all the time, but contrary to popular notion, there’s so much to do!

It’s so hard to find new things to do though — I also sometimes want to deviate from the usual of going to the mall, amusement park, movies, etcetera. I found this site that lists different events in New Jersey, and what’s great about it is that it lists hard to find events like fairs and festivals. It also lists the contact information of the event organizers. You also get access to the community who, like you are seeking events in New Jersey as well.

The site is kangalope. Check it out if you’re looking for new things to do — sign up for frequent updates, too. I save time by getting the updates so I don’t have to log on the site every time.

Very nicely put by a Floridian. much respect. Now if we can get the costs of getting a daily badge down to a respectably level it would make my day. Zero would be nice

What does wildwood & AC do that other cities fail miserably at? who knows…
