Health Care in the U.S.

As is the case with an election year, the topic of healthcare is hot. We have so many uninsured people in the United States, nit to mention those who can just barely afford insurance for policies that are debatably not even worth the monthly premiums.

I think a lot about health insurance. I carry COBRA right now and I love my policy, but if I opt not to work for much longer I will be one of the all too many who either live without health insurance or pay way too much for worthless plans. Also, I live in Florida where we have our fair share or retired and elderly folks. Many of them have Medicare and struggle regularly with making sure they have adequate Medicare supplement insurance, so that pills and minor procedures don’t; bankrupt them.

Yes, I think a lot about our healthcare crisis. We have some of the most advanced, most reliable doctors and hospitals in the world. The care is right there in front of you, but it is not affordable – not by any stretch of the imagination. Before our nation feeds, educates, and doctors illegal immigrants and repeat criminals, I would like to see the United States use funds to offer affordable healthcare to our own law-abiding citizens. The middle class is up a creek when it comes to good healthcare, and that is criminal in and of itself.
