Sunburn Relief
I have sunburn. I should know better, but even so I went out to the beach yesterday and only put sun block on my face. So, I have sunburn on my arms and knees and even on my face, because the sun block was probably not strong enough for the sensitive skin of my nose and cheeks.
So, I have been looking around for home remedies for sunburn and came upon a few.
Vinegar
My mother told me to use vinegar to cut the pain. I dabbed it on my arms and it did seem to bring some relief.
Aloe Vera
We have a bunch of Aloe Vera growing in the back yard, so I cut off some sections an squeezed the juices/gel onto my knees. The relief from pain was not as immediate, but I know the Aloe Vera is good for the healing my skin needs.
Tea Compress
My friend, Michelle, went to the beach with us yesterday and got even more burned that I did. Her mother suggested making very strong pot of black tea and then soaking a soft towel in the tea. The tannic acid in the tea is supposed to draw the burn out and heal the skin. She said using a tea compress did not seem to help her pain at all.
Baking Soda Bath
I’ve read that a cool bath with 1/2 a cup of baking soda has been added is a great help for sunburn. I will be trying this tonight.
