Maximize Your Mac

Mac lovers are a special breed. Most that use Mac tend to be wildly loyal. I used to be that way, but over the past 10 years I have come to love both sides of the fence, so to speak.

I consider myself bilingual, actually. I have both Macs and PCs in the house and I use them all equally. And, to be quite honest, there are things I love about each platform that are unique only to the platform at hand. I feel like I am a happier computer user if I have both around me at all times. I suppose that comes from being a graphic designer and having to work with clients who have all sorts of operating systems and software. You meet your clients where they happen to be, and that makes it better for everyone.

Because I work with both PCs and Macs, I have had to learn how to optimize both systems seamlessly. I cannot depend more on one or the other. There are tools you can find for each that are helpful in keeping your system as useful as possible.

Find Free Space on Your Macintosh
If you want to maximize your Mac’s hard drive, there is a handy tool you can use called WheresTheFreeSpace®. It lets you know how much free space you have available on your drive, where really big files are located, and what is using up the bulk of your space. You can even print reports.

You can download the tool for $29.95 or you can check it out first and download the 30 day free trial. I recommend always test driving software before you buy, so that you know if it is really what you are looking for and if it does what you expected it to do.
