Now is Not the Time to Be in Debt
I just heard a news story on the radio that confirms that the price of wheat is going way up and that the world’s cereal stockpile is low. That is just one more thing you can add to the growing list of items that are making daily living a very expensive endeavor. Gas is up, milk is up, wheat is up, home prices are up and things like the interest you will earn on a savings account is decidedly down.
This is not a good time to accrue new debt. In fact, you should be doing everything possible to make debt relief part of your agenda. You need to understand your rights when it comes to dealing with your debtors, especially third party collectors. Did you know that it is not lawful for a collector to contact you before 8:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m.? Unfortunately, they are perfectly in their rights to call you on weekends and holidays. You can’t win them all.
I’ve actually found a ton of useful articles about finances, debt and money management over at the Care One Credit site; as well as a cool credit card calculator. They have links out to credible sources and I’ve been able to find information I was unaware of before now.
