Princesses and Pirates Party
This February, we are going to bust out our girliness in full force!
I was putting it off for a while, but I finally got out the old credit card and purchased my tickets for the Princesses and Pirates Party over at Disney World for February. We attended last year in lieu of a birthday party for Gigi and it was incredible. Gigi loved it so much that we are doing this again for her 5th birthday instead of a traditional party.
Last year we went with my sister and my nephew, but that meant that we were doing Pirate activities over 50% of the time. That was okay with Gigi, but this year we are going to go Full Princess and we are taking one of my best friends and her daughter, who is just a couple of months older than Gigi.
The tickets are less than a one-day park pass and are good for the evening of the party. I would have spent a lot less if I had purchased them before December 15, but my fined had to iron out some details and could not confirm until after Christmas. But, to make the deal a little sweeter, her husband’s cousin works for Disney and is going to let us into any park we want the following day for free and get us a room at a Disney resort for half price. All of the sudden, I am a lot more happy about paying for all four party tickets.
If you are able to get to the Magic Kingdom while the Princesses & Pirates Party is going on, do try and get some tickets. The crowds are lighter than regular park crowds and there is virtually no line for all of the rides. You will still find long lines at the various Meet and Greet stations, but that is to be expected. My little girl is very excited about meeting more of the princesses this year. We only had time to meet Ariel and Cinderella last year, because we spent so much time on the Pirate side of the park and waiting in line to meet Captain Jack Sparrow.
You receive a treasure map and all over the park are treasure chests full of chocolates and beads. It’s fun to collect them.
Last year we dined at the Liberty Tree Inn, but I think this year we are going to forego character dining in favor of more time fort the actual party!
