I know what you are thinking. You want to pick up the phone and all me and remind me that Christmas has already passed. I know. I’m not THAT out of it.

My favorite Christmas shopping deals are always after Christmas, though. I love that most of the stores have 50% sales the day after Christmas, and if you wait it out long enough they will have even better sales. I went by target this afternoon and all of their Christmas stuff was still sitting at 50% off. They had an awful lot left. I chatted a bit with one of the ladies out in the garden department and she agreed with me that by tomorrow they will probably have everything marked down o 75% off. I will be getting out of bed early for that particular event. A few days later, 90% markdowns will be a reality, but by then most of the good stuff is gone. I still like to look around though.

The cool thing about these massive markdowns is that is you are careful about buying things that are not exclusively Christmas looking, you can fill up your entire gift closet for birthdays and other events for the entire year to come. I have my eye on the Barbie dolls that will be $1.25 tomorrow. They will be great for gift exchanges, Toys for Tots, birthdays, etc. I usually find some cute liquid soap dispensers that are not holiday looking to use on the bathroom vanities. Dishes, glasses, and other accessories in solid colors are good buys. Soaps, Ziploc bags, plastic warp – all of that stuff is absolutely usable all year despite snowflake designs.

Yes, this is when the shopping gets fun.
