My Resolution is Always the Same

Every year as the New Year rolls around, my resolution is the same – fitness. I want to lose weight and subsequently lower my blood pressure and cholesterol. I’ve had some pretty good success with diets in the past, but since my daughter was born I have been stagnant in the weight loss arena.

I need to find a new motivation and my overall health looks like the right incentive. I know I could get online and order something like Hoodia or hydroxycut. I may even find that they work well for me. But, my initial reaction is to simply move more, eat healthier, and snack less.

If I had to list my two biggest deterrents in losing weight, they would be that I love evening snacks and that I sit so much throughout the day, because my work is in front of a computer. It stands to reason that I just need to reverse those two constants. I need to cut out evening snacks 100% and I need to compensate for the sitting by getting out and doing additional exercise.

I have high hopes for 2008. Each year that passes is another year that I gain back more of my independence and that feels so liberating.
