Brand Loyal or Just Beautiful?
When I wrote about liking the Mary Kay Satin Hands line of products (but not any of their other products), readers commented mentioned in Bare Minerals.
I use Bare Minerals as well. I think I have been using them for about two and a half years or so. I love the light feel and the way my skin feels healthier. There is an awful lot of control when you are using a powder-based makeup and can layer and blend for coverage. When I use my liquid Clinique (which I do keep around for days I need a painted look), it’s pretty much full coverage or nothing.
Last month I tried a new item out of their Rare Minerals line. It was a sulpher-based product for blemish control. As an adult, I all of the sudden have acne outbreaks. As a teen, I would have skipped washing my face altogether and sill had perfect skin. Oh, the injustice. Anyway, I ordered the product and I have to say that it just did not work the way they advertise; at least not for me. My breakouts actually got more inflamed and there was no healing in sight.
I have some Clearzit by Serious Skin Care and I find that this works much better for my skin. A small dab and things clear right up overnight.
I suppose what this post serves to say is that I am not brand loyal at all. I like Bare Minerals for my makeup, Serious Skin Care for blemish-y times, Clinique for heavy coverage, and to be quite honest – I love the Olay brand for their newer anti-aging products.
It is not always about buying the most expensive product, as much as it’s knowing what works for you and experimenting with a variety of products until you find the best fit.
