The Game Plan is Still Number One

My daughter and I went to see “The Game Plan” last weekend. We loved it. In fact, Gigi loved it so much she talked her dad into taking her to see it again this weekend. He reported to me that he also loved it and was happy he let Gigi drag him to the theater.

The Game Plan was number one at the box office last weekend, which was no big surprise since it was opening weekend for the film and people have been ravenous for a new family film. What shocked me is that it remained number one this weekend. Not that the film is not good enough to be top on the list, but it was up against ht opening of Ben Stiller’s new and hotly anticipated “The Heartbreak Kid”.

Here’s the thing about “The Game Plan.” It appeals to a wide audience and it shows us a level of innocence that most films are unable to capture. The movie has princesses, ponies, ballet, sparkles, bubbles, football, night clubs, cool cars, funny dogs, tender moments and a lot of laughs.

Just when I thought I had lost all faith in Disney after they supported Vanessa Anne Hudgens after her foray into online nudity, they put out “The Game Plan.” They are on my good side again.

You have to love a football movie that is also a girly movie. I’ll probably even buy it when it comes out on DVD. And, we’re hoping for a sequel.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has certainly proven himself to be a great actor. It’s nice that he can do family films in addition to action flicks. I definitely want to see this movie.

Thanks for posting the review! :)
