Wordpress Backup

How often do you backup your Wordpress content? I was doing a manual backup from time to time for all three of my blogs and had just installed a plugin that would e-mail me a daily back up on Suncoast Scribe when I lost access to my Plus1 and GirlyThing1 blogs.

Now, I did not have access to the files that would have allowed me to install this automatic backup on the two blogs that were being hosted fro free, but I could have remembered to manually backup more often. That is me culpa 100%. I still do not have access to the files to do a backup now, but I suppose that is a mute point.

If you have your own hosting or even access to install the Wordpress plugins of your own choosing, make sure you download and utilize one of the plugins that will generate an automatic backup of your files. I was reading Lucia’s blog today and her post reminded me that I needed to install a plugin to do backups on both this blog and One Clear Dot.

The install and activation took me a combined 3 minutes for both blogs. It may have actually taken less time, but I went for a drink of water somewhere in the middle. It was quite close to effortless and in the end, priceless.

I don’t know much about wordpress yet but I do know I get my backup copies emailed to me every night so I guess they are automatic. I was lucky enough to win the win jay as a slave contest so he has been setting up my wordpress stuff for me:)
Anyways, just browsing new sites and thought I’d say hello..so hello;)

I’ve been putting off installing a backup plugin because there are so many and wanted to get a recommendation… so which on are you using? you could have at least provided a link… :)

Got it and installed it, thanks.. :)

I see you also installed one of my other favorite plugins - Threaded Comments… it makes your comment almost like a forum and much more interactive…

I LOVE threaded comments. I added it to Suncoast Scribe as well, but I did something weird to my comments file in WP for One Clear Dot and it isn’t working for me.

A forum invites much more discussion and I hope to see that kind of action on at least one of my blogs someday. I see others who really have it going on.

I have never made a back up of my WP blog *blush*. I have downloaded the wpdb plugin and will get on it right away. Thanks for the link!
