Farewell to Madeleine L’Engle

Author Madeleine L’Engle, who wrote “A Wrinkle in Time” and could claim me as a fan as early as 3rd grade, died of natural causes at the age of 88. She was at a nursing home in Litchfield, CT.

I admired how she did not hide her Christian beliefs and often turned the spotlight on spiritual themes in her stories. I think it’s time for me to go back and re-read Wrinkle an the other books featuring the Murrys.

Ms. L’Engle, you are missed.

I loved her books. I didn’t know she passed away.

This sorta hurt my feelings.
I mean, it’s not like she was a Spring Chicken, but I felt the same way when Truman Capote died.
I want my authors to remain around forever.
Books have such an impact on your life that they become your friends and your favorite authors become your family, ya know?
At least she’s at rest.

Authors to me are forever that their passing seems shocking at first, and then it fades into disbelief…then, sadness that they will not produce new works.
