Crossing Over, but not like John Edward
Welcome to the continuation of a blog I have enjoyed writing for nearly a year now. I started my Girly Things blog as a sub-domain of someone who felt kind enough to provide a free account for me, but as I returned this afternoon for a long trip out of town for the funeral of my grandmother — I found that my account had been suspended for two weeks. Why, you ask? I had made mention of the possibility of giving my daughter a Benadryl during the long trip if she acted up. What I did not say in my other blog entry was that my pediatrician had actually suggested the Benadryl as an alternative to her daily non-drowsy allergy meds. He suggested it would not only provide allergy relief, but help with the anxiety she was having over the 18-hour drive. He told me it would also be good to have on hand to treat motion sickness.
Apparently, the gal who hosts my original Girly Things blogs felt I was advocating the drugging of children. It makes me wonder if she has a child, little less a nervous child with raging allergies.
As an aside, Gigi did quite well on the trip. She relaxed on her own and slept most of the way. It was all for nothing, you see.
And so, I will continue to blog at the original Girly Things site, though I will also begin daily musings here. I prefer the option of the freedom. I love my readers and will do my best to help you find the transition here simple and reasonable. The reason I will not 100% abandon my oldblogs is that I have MANY regular readers on those blogs and I have actually led many new users to the host, so I hate to take flight and leave my friends behind.
Sorry for the loss of your grandmother and all the stress you are dealing with over this whole mess right now. Let me know if I can do anything to help.
Thanks for the kind words. Perhaps this was all for the best, when it comes down to it. I have needed to move to 100% my own domains for a while now. I can have unlimited URLs on my hosting account and it is silly of me to have put it off.
Sorry to hear about your old host (and so sorry about your grandmother) But…I love the look of this site and I’m sure in no time all your readers will find you again.
Let’s hope they do find me! I cannot even post a link to my new blog.
Oh well, time can do wonders.
My condolences on your grandmother.
Nothing but congratulations on your new hosting situation.
I hadn’t read you before, but Skeet’s referrals are always to really good blogs.
I’m very sorry to hear about your grandmother. And I’m sorry about what happened with your old host. How unfair.
Our doctors have recommended using Benedryl for my kiddo many times. Nothing wrong with that at all.
On the bright side, congrats on the new site!! Looks wonderful!
[...] fellow blogger was treated, inappropriatly by her host. You can read about it in her post at Girly things. I’m sure she would be the first to tell you that, if someone offers to host your blog, it is [...]
I came here from Geeky Speaky. My condolences on your loss. And what a crappy thing to happen, about your blog. Argh.
I only have a handful of readers, but I will gladly spread the word about your new sites!
I think I will enjoy reading you!
I still can’t believe your host would just do that. It seems awfully selfish of her to just remove someone’s blog without any notice.
Anyways, congrats on the new site!!! ^-^
Wow. That totally sucks. Your host actually had no right to do that. I’m sorry. I hope this blog gets as good and loved as your old one.
I found your site via GS. That’s terrible that someone would behave in such a manner due to something you said in a post. You’re probably much better off being free of that!
So sorry for the loss of your grandmother
God Bless Her!
